how to enter

The process is simple. Follow the steps below!

01

gather your best photos!

Whether you grab your camera and head out the door or start scrolling through your image library, this is the most important step! Be sure to choose your strongest work, and if you're not sure what that is, ask your family and friends!

02

upload to our website

The upload process is simple. You can upload to only one category OR go big and submit to all four of them! It never hurts to try! Our uploader will walk you through the submission process and let you know if there are any issues with your files.

03

keep shooting!

If you happen to create a better photo than the one you submitted, you can always come back and adjust your submission anytime before the contest closes on February 28th.

04

sit tight until mid-March!

After we cull through tens of thousands of images and select the final 400 or so, our esteemed guest judges will narrow it down to the final winners in each category, and a Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the top four places. Look for the announcement of winners in the middle of March!

frequently asked questions

Of course! RMSP wants YOU to keep your copyright. Submitted images live safely on our server and won't be used for any purpose except to be viewed for judging. The top 100 in each category may be published on our websites, emails and social media accounts for future contest promotion only.

Anyone of high school age (14-18) who resides in the United States or Canada. You can be homeschooled, private schooled, or temporarily out of school, but you must be high school age.

Judging begins on March 1st, 2022 after the close of the contest. You will be contacted in mid-March if your photo places in the top 100 of a category (the honorable mentions). Winners will be contacted shortly after that, before the contest results are published on our site and our social accounts! Please be patient, as the process of narrowing down 100K images to just FOUR is understandably very time-consuming, and we want to give each photo the attention it deserves!

We are looking for photos that show you are dedicated to bettering your craft, excited about technical and creative excellence, and ready to keep moving forward toward your unique goals. The winners of each of our four categories (People, Nature, Miscellaneous, and Smartphone) are young people who are willing to dig deep into their wells of inspiration and bring it all back up to the surface. If you are one of these people, you have found a creative home.

So pick your favorites, make new pictures, and spend time honing your craft so that you can push yourself right into one of the winning slots.

We wish you the best of luck, and we can’t wait to look at your images!
